Functions Policy

Standard Venue Policies & Private Hire Contract

Welcome to Wigram Brewing Taproom & Kitchen Function spaces. To ensure your private event or function runs smoothly while protecting our facilities, licensing, and taproom environment, all bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions.

  • Function Spaces: Include the indoor Bottling Hall & Bar or the outdoor Beer Garden.

  • Capacity Limits: Bottling Hall maximum 60 occupants; Beer Garden maximum 100 occupants.

  • Hire Period & Access: All functions must end on or before 11:00 PM and guests must vacate the premises by 11:30 PM.

1. Alcohol, Catering & Licensing Policies

  • Strict No BYO Policy: We hold an On License which strictly prohibits any outside alcohol of any kind to be brought on to or consumed on our premises (Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012).

  • Custom Alcohol Requests: If you or your guests have specific wine/spirit preferences that are not on our regular taproom menu, we can specially order these items in advance. These custom orders will be sold at standard bar retail pricing during your event.

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol: Our staff are fully LCQ trained under our Host Responsibility Policy (HRP). We reserve the right to refuse service to any intoxicated guest or request that they leave the premises immediately. No refunds or concessions will be given if an event is impacted by our HRP enforcement.

  • Underage Guests: Minors are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Minors are strictly prohibited from consuming alcohol.

2. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

As a craft brewery, short-notice cancellations heavily impact our capacity to host regular taproom guests or alternative events. Our cancellation tiers are as follows:

  • 14+ Days’ Notice: Cancellations made 14 or more days prior to the event date will receive a full deposit refund, or the deposit may be fully transferred to an available alternative date.

  • Within 14 Days’ Notice: Cancellations made within 14 days of the event date will result in total forfeiture of the 20% deposit. Special considerations may apply at the discretion of management.

3. Financial Terms & Minimum Spend

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit equal to 20% of the estimated function cost or minimum spend is required to secure your booking date. Dates will not be held without a cleared deposit payment.

  • Final Payment: The remaining final balance of the event must be paid in full on the day of the event, prior to or at the conclusion of the function time.

  • Weekend Minimum Spend: Events booked on a Friday or Saturday night for groups of 50 guests or more are subject to a strict minimum spend threshold of $2,000. This amount is inclusive of all in-house food and beverage purchases. If this total is not met by the conclusion of the event, the difference will be charged to the host as a venue hire fee.

4. Safety, Decor & Property Rules

  • Brewhouse Boundaries: For your safety, guests must remain strictly within designated taproom and function areas unless hosted during a Brewery Tour by staff. Touching commercial brewing equipment & ingredients is strictly forbidden.

  • Decorations: Standalone banners, signage, and Blu-Tack are permitted for decorations. The use of confetti, glitter, smoke/haze machines, party poppers, or any items requiring nails, screws, or heavy industrial adhesives is strictly prohibited.

  • Extra Cleaning Fee: Standard venue cleaning is included in your hire. However, if your event results in excessive mess requiring commercial remediation, an explicit minimum cleaning fee of $150 will be charged to the host's final bill.

  • Property Damages: The host assumes full financial responsibility for any physical damage caused to the venue structure, furniture, or property by themselves or their guests.

5. Timing & Noise Compliance

  • Event Duration: Function spaces are booked for a predetermined timeframe. Guests are requested to cleanly vacate the function area within 15 to 30 minutes of the scheduled conclusion time to allow for venue resetting.

  • Noise and Music: Entertainment or music playlists are permitted in private areas, but volumes must comply with local council zoning restrictions and strict brewery decibel caps managed by on-duty staff.

6. Client Acknowledgement & Sign-off

Before the event we ask you to print the policy document and sign it. By signing below, the client acknowledges having read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by all the terms, conditions, payment structures, and safety rules outlined in this contract document.
